Not of of XS Sights Better Products (10.09.2010)

After having bought an XS Ghost Sight for my Marlin 444P and having great success, I got a set for my Model 94 Trapper. After opening the package, II immediately noticed, and disliked, the height of this set. Installation was quick and painless though, taking only 15 minutes. At the range, things got ugly. The rifle required an extreme left adjustment, which is accomplished by loosening the countering screws on the aperture and moving accordingly. The screws are so short that the right side screw came unthreaded and dropped into the sight housing, where it became lodged between the aperture post and the housing! I double checked the front sight to make sure it was centered in the dovetail, which it was, thinking this could be my problem. I had to return home, remove the sight, retrieve the screw (which was now partially stripped), and move the front sight left in the dovetail to accommodate the rear sight's limited windage adjustment. Back to the range I went, and wouldn't you know it, it happened again! Frustrated, I simply tightened down the left screw real good, immobilizing everything, and made my final windage adjustments by tapping/adjusting the front sight, which was a pain in the backside for it is really tight. All this because they couldn't make the screws a mere 1/16" longer! They would not interfere with anything at all if they were. The endstate is that my Trapper now shoots easy 2" groups @ 50 yards, something I could never do with the factory iron sights. But I sure had to earn it.

Worked Perfectly (20.02.2014)

This is about the only after market sight that would fit on my 94 Trapper. The original sights were lost when a scope was mounted. I removed the scope and installed this. Went on easy. I checked the accuracy with a laser sight-er and it is dead on!
